Dry Ice Blasting is Environmentally Friendly & Safe. Dry ice cleaning is a "green" process that uses small pellets of recycled carbon dioxide to clean a surface. The pellets "sublimate" or turn from a solid to a gas as they are impacting the subsurface during the cleaning process. This "pops" the contaminant forward off the item leaving an exceptionally cleaned surface. This is unlike other blast medias which may grind some of the parent material away and can push unwanted compounds into the subsurface.
Dry ice blasting uses small pellets of dry ice (about the size of a grain of rice) and a jet nozzle, along with compressed air, to impact and clean surfaces of unwanted compounds and coatings. It is superior to other forms of blasting such as steam, garnet, sand, and soda because it returns to a gas on impact and leaves no additional and often more problematic surface borne contaminants. It is an ideal solution for removing fire borne contamination such as heavy residue polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, or mould contamination as part of a mould remediation program. |
